time to post!

I have been a little behind on posting on here. We have not taken many pictures lately, so that would be why. During the Christmas and holiday season, I am sure we will have more.

I always love pictures of the kids together. Here Ethan is doing his famous "bum in the air" thing. It's kind of cute!

Seth will be 4 years old in a little over 1 month. He is growing up so fast and it is hard to believe what this coming year will bring for him. He'll be starting Sunday school in January and be starting regular school in the fall. Wow, it seems like yesterday he was that little baby in my arms and now he is a big boy.

Ethan is almost 8 months. He doesn't do too much but in the last week or so he has started "crawling". I consider it crawling because he gets where he wants to go, but it is not on his hands and knees. He kind of pushes off with his feet and slides forward. I guess he has been doing this for a little while, because I would put him on the floor to play and next thing I knew he was in a totally different position. He's growing up so fast too. Starting to say "da da", "ma ma" (usually when he is sad or upset) and "ba ba". It's too cute!

Ethan doing his famous "bum in the air". I think he is trying to position himself to sit down, but when he puts his bum down, he doesn't know what to do with his hands. He will catch on soon enough I am sure.

grandma's birthday

God has blessed our Grandma with another birthday today. She is celebrating her 86th birthday. On Saturday, my parents, great-aunt Sue (my grandma's sister), the boys and I went to celebrate with her. It was nice to see her once again. She was pretty tired but I think she enjoyed our visit.

encouragement for dads and moms

I read this the other day in our devotional "Night Lights for Parents" by Dr. James & Shirley Dobson. It is a little encouragement to those parents raising young kids. Sometime I get overwhelmed by how busy life gets and raising 2 boys, but this reminded me of our important task that we have as parents. I just wanted to share this. It is something to think about.
'As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower in the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more' Psalm 103:15-16
"When eternal values come in view, it becomes our greatest desire to please our Lord and influence as many others for Him as possible, beginning with our own sons, or daughters, and loved ones.
If we truly believe that the eternal souls of our children hang in the balance-that only by winning them for Christ can we spend eternity together with them in heaven-will we change the way each day is lived? Will we ignore and neglect so great an opportunity if our eyes are fully opened to this awesome responsibility? I think not. I pray not.
As for you mothers and father who still have kids at home, may I urge you to keep this biblical truth in view as you race through the days of your lives. Don't permit yourselves to become discouraged with the responsibilities of parenting. Yes, it is an exhausting and difficult assignment, and there are times when you will feel like throwing in the towel. But I beg you to stay on course! Get on your knees before the Lord and ask daily for His strength and wisdom. Finish the job to which He has called you! There is no more important task in living, and you will understand that assignment more clearly when you stand where Shirley and I are today. In the blink of an eye, you will be hugging your children goodbye and returning to an empty house. You will pause for a moment to utter a prayer that the values and lessons you've imparted over the years have taken root in your sons or daughters and that they will bear fruit for the kingdom for the rest of their lives."

5 years of marriage

God has blessed Paul & I with 5 years of marriage today.
I am so thankful for the husband that I have and look forward to many more years with him!

Our wedding text:

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8a

"Love suffers long and is kind; does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."
